Design has to inspire. One of the best stories from last Fuorisalone is the one of Sheltersuit Foundation. Founded by Bas Timmer, a young Dutch fashion designer, create and donate jackets/sleeping bags to homeless and refugees.
The Sheltersuit jacket transforms itself in sleeping bag and it can be folded into a bag. The team of Sheltersuit now consists of 32 volunteers who want contribute in their own way to a better, more social society.
Last year Sheltersuit exposed at the Dutch Design Week where many were gripped by Sheltersuit’s story. This year, Organisation in Design invited Sheltersuit to showcase their project at Ventura Lambrate and donating 100 Sheltersuits to the homeless in Milan.
A beautiful gesture full of inspiration and great humanity in a world that runs fast and often pretends to have no time to stop and make something for those who need help.
