The new Ikea collection for the summer

We still don’t know what kind of summer awaits us. Could we go to the beach? Could we leave our homes? Who knows… while waiting Ikea launches the new 2020 summer collection!

The collection encourage us to spend time and live outdoors or bring the outside inside. On holiday or at home, the intent of the Ikea collection is to enjoy the summer days and evenings outdoors on a micro terrace or in a large garden with fun and cheerful furnishings and accessories that will keep us company in this weird summer 2020.

In the collection there are beautiful picnic baskets (I love the backpack version!) to use at the park, if we could, or simply to set up a different lunch on the living room floor or on the balcony! The attitude changes everything, we have experienced it in these quarantine days, even the umpteenth dinner at home can be different if faced with a little optimism and imagination.

Let yourself be surprised by the fun is the claim that Ikea proposes for this new collection. Among the summer novelties, you’ll find beautiful sun umbrellas with double decoration, inside and outside, in fact, they have two different patterns that look like retro atmosphere.
In the collection not only furnishings but also ping-pong rackets and boules game, perfect for playing on the beach but also in the garden or on the balcony!

Furniture of the new collection are designed to be practical: chairs and armchairs in light aluminum or wood are easy to move in&out and foldable, we can use them to create the relaxing corner we want, when we want it!

You don’t have a small balcony? Open the window and create a small “outdoor” area: you just need a chair, a pouffe, a towel, a nice book and a few plants… sitting here in the sun you’ll feel like outside!

There is also a hammock… who said that you have to hang it outside? A hammock is a dream for every child… even grown up!

Would you like to know what is my favorite piece among the Ikea 2020 news? The green outdoor pouffe. I would love it together with the arbor bench! It would be perfect on my terrace, I would like to add some nice seat and back cushions, hang some plants and of course a beautiful lighting chain! I can already imagine it!
