Instagram has increasingly become a tool where to look for inspirations: interiors, design, clothing, products but also places, destinations for amazing vacation, restaurants, hotels…
Who save on Instagram all the beautiful posts of places where he would like to go like me? Besides obviously other folders of recipes, ideas, folders divided by colors, inspirations for the home etc …
There is an incredible variety among my saved places: from the Los Angeles botanical gardens and Kew Gardens, to Marrakesh, Tasmania, Positano, Crete, Phuket, Bruges, Chile, Ponza, Turkey, Lake Garda…
I save places but also super Instagrammable restaurants, hotels, bars and clubs where I would like to go (and take pictures!): I saved a beautiful “botanical” café in Amsterdam, a pink restaurant in New York, a pool in Sydney, a wonderful food store in Lisbon, a shop in Mälmo, an art gallery in Copenhagen, a street in Tokyo…
Instagram has become a tool for inspiration, places to go but also how to take photos. Instagram makes you want to go to a specific place and also redo the beautiful photo saw. There are real “Instagram tours” that include super instagrammable spots and even props to take photo with. In London there’s an Instagram tour in costume for those who want to experience the city with 18th century vibes, in Paris they organize tours with typical Parisian props: baguettes, flowers, woven baskets… in Tokyo you can rent kimonos but also cosplay outfits for photo shooting … don’t you have an “Instagram husband”? No problem, they rent those too!
Shops, brands, museums, event organizers are becoming more oriented in create Instagram-spots where you are encouraged to take pictures and share them with tags and hashtags. A new and powerful marketing tool.
Do you save places and look for vacation-inspirations on Instagram too? What is the most beautiful place you have saved and where you dream of going? My maybe is Tasmania!
