One of the best event of this Fuorisalone 2018 there is a special place: Villa Borsani in Varedo, Brianza.

The villa was the Osvaldo Borsani’s house, founder of Tecno. This is the first time the house is opened for visits, it is a great chance, don’t miss it!

Borsani was born in Varedo in 1911 in a family of furniture makers in Brianza, after studying architecture at the Milan Politecnico, in 1953 he founded Tecno with his brother and transformed the family business into an industrial reality that will change the design combining artisanal knowledge with technical innovation.

He was a real pioneer of design, a visionary who not only knew how to bring modern forms in the post-war period but also connected art and furniture involving artists such as Lucio Fontana, Agenore Fabbri, Aligi Sassu, Roberto Crippa, Fausto Melotti, Arnaldo and Giò Pomodoro.

Visiting Villa Borsani is like entering a time portal: the house, built by him between 1939 and 1945, has a charm of the past, with an atmospheres very similar to Villa Necchi in Milan. I loved the attention to detail and color research but, at the same time, it is a hyper functional and modern home.

Villa Borsani will be open until Friday 20 April 2018 with the beautiful setting curated by Ambra Medda. Fragrances, sound and floral arrangements will accompany you on a truly special visit.
The floral arrangements in particular are incredible!

An “outsider” event: Varedo (MB) is about 30 minutes from the center of Milan.
Look through my stories on Instagram, you’ll understand why it’s worth a visti!
