London is always the right place where to find new trends and inspirations. Speaking of design one of the best places to visit in the city is The Conran Shop, the first of the chain founded by Sir Terence Conran in 1974.
Sir Conran was one of the protagonists of the design scene in London since the 50’s: he designed the shop for Mary Quant, the creator of the miniskirt.
The Conran Shop flagship store opened its doors in 1987 in the historic Michelin House building on Fulham Road, Chelsea. The building was originally commissioned in 1909 by the Michelin Tyre Company as their first permanent British headquarters and tyre depot.
Today there are 11 Conran Shop in the world: three in London, one in Paris and 7 in Japan!
Do not miss to visit The Conran Shop during your next trip to London. It is the perfect place to find out new trends, designers, products and find inspiration!
I’ve recognized many projects seen at Ventura Lambrate during Fuorisalone. This means that buyers at Conran really make research: my dream job!
Have lunch or coffee in the Bibendum Restaurant inside the store named after Michelin’s iconic figure, Monsieur Bibendum, or more commonly referred to as, ‘The Michelin Man’.
Enjoy!
