Comodissimo e capiente!
  • Borsa extra in tessuto.

Enjoy!

12-17, April: Milan will be literally invaded by the Fuorisalone events. To see the most part of it, or at least best events, you need to walking far and wide the city. The best way to do it, is the traditional way: walking!

The most important question: where to go? What is worth seeing? What you can not really miss? Here you will find the Gucki’s guide, my personal selection of best events, the most beautiful locations, 80 appointments organized by zones!

You can find it as a Mobile Website, in the App format (free download for Android, unfortunately the App Store timing is sooo long, I’ll hold by fingers crossed until it will be released!) and PDF that you can download and print.

This is my survival kit, what I will take with me in my favorite week of the year!

  • Comfortable shoes. Essential. A good way to move around the city could be the bike sharing without losing time with public transport or traffic.
  • Camera. Certainly, lighter (and small) is better for your back safe.
  • Phone + portable battery. Essential.
  • Backpack. Yes, I choose comfort and bring my faithful companion, comfortable and roomy!
  • Shopping bag. This is strategic. You are going to collect postcards, business cards, catalogs… the bag will save you. Certainly you can also wait for some generous exhibitor that will give it to you but but I prefer being organized! Tip: you will soon understand that the paper weighs, instead of taking brochures and catalogs for everything, take a photo at the name of the designer, you will find all the details on-line!
  • Agenda. You’ll not miss any event, cocktail or date! (Spoiler alert: If you are interested in seeing as much as possible of the Fuorisalone, skip the cocktails…)
  • Notebook. Very useful if you want to save a name, an inspiration, take a note. Of course, you could also use the “notes” in your phone …
  • Pen. Ça va sans dire
  • Business cards. Fuorisalone is the perfect time for discovery but also for connections! In addition: some events require registration, if you have your business card the process will be much faster!
  • Umbrella. This year we are not expecting the usual tropical summer for the Fuorisalone, it will rain too. The worst thing for this event. Bring an umbrella on Wednesday!
  • Sunglasses. Protect your eyesight + “if you have no sunglasses you’re nobody” … I have learned that they are an essential accessory 😉

I wish to all of you a very good Fuorisalone, it’s a magical week, a week that fill you with beauty, discoveries, innovations and amazement because first of all design amazes!

My design week begins today with various previews:

  • Tortona area: proclamation Lexus Design Award, opening Superstudio Più, Opificio 31, Ikea + Gnam Box press preview…
  • Duomo/Brera: press preview in Palazzo Litta (Belgium is Design), Foscarini, Interieurs Biennale at the showroom of Jil Sander (I’m curious to see it!), House Vitra.

My plan for tomorrow? Start right away from the fair with the Salone del Mobile and Eurocucina!

Do not miss anything, follow me on social (Facebook, Instagram), and every day you will find here on the blog my day-by-day coverage, with all the tips on events not to be missed!

Enjoy!
