Sabato sera al Leroy Merlin si è compiuto un grande evento: abbiamo finalmente ordinato il legno per fare la libreria E la mia scrivania! Alla cassa la gente si congratulava con noi e grandi applausi. Nella mia testa. Certo. Non sapete quanta roba succede dentro lì! Comunque sia questa settimana arriveranno le benedette mensole per la nostra libreria, la “nostra” prima libreria. Che emozione!
Certo, non credete che sia finita, perché dobbiamo ancora comprare le staffe che dovranno reggere la libreria, dipingere le mensole e fare circa 144 buchi nel muro per montare il tutto. Difficoltà plus: cercare di non fare una libreria in Torre-di-Pisa Style.
Sono 4 anni che discutiamo di questa libreria. Non pensiate che noi siamo complicati, è che ci sono delle difficoltà: la nostra zona giorno praticamente non ha pareti perché abbiamo due immense e bellissime vetrate che però riducono la superficie muraria sfruttabile per una libreria giga come avremmo bisogno noi, accumulatori compulsivi di libri. 4 anni fa, quando la casa era ancora un cantiere, io-genio, facendo fruttare il mio master in interior design, avevo progettato un soppalco in vetro e acciaio esattamente sopra il nostro divano. Quello sarebbe stato il posto perfetto per una giga-libreria. E lì il soppalco sta ancora aspettando di adempiere al suo ruolo! Ma ancora per poco caro il mio soppalco! Ci siamo! Se siamo fortunati il prossimo week-end saremo lì a bucherellarti tutto!
Vista la scelta del soppalco in vetro non potevamo ripiegare su un mobile libreria e così ci siamo fissati che dovesse essere sospesa. Ma non così in fretta. Si tratta di più di 3 metri di parete. Volevamo che la libreria la occupasse per intero – e non è ancora tutto – in un unico pezzo. Sì, mio marito è fobico delle giunture.
Certo sul mercato ce ne sono di belle librerie… anche se quella della vita non è che l’abbiamo proprio trovata. Il problema che i costi per librerie che rispettino tutti i nostri desideri sono davvero alti per il budget che abbiamo a disposizione. E quindi siamo ricaduti come sempre su un bel DIY di quelli super-sbattimento che ci piacciono tanto!
E così eccoci felici proprietari di tavole in abete lunghe più di 3 m!

Saturday night at Leroy Merlin a big event happened: we finally ordered wood planks for our bookshelf AND the top for my desk! Big hurrà! People cheered and clapped us, yes this happened in my mind. Lots of stuff happen in there! Anyway this week we are going to welcome these blessed shelves! “Our” first bookshelf! I’m excited!
Please don’t think that this “the end” of the story! We have to buy brackets, paint the wood and make 144 holes to put all together! Plus: we have to try it without having the-Torre-di-Pisa effect.
It’s 4 years we are talking about this shelf. Don’t think that we are complicated, there are some complexities: in our living room there are quite no walls, we have two huge and beautiful windows that occupy the entire side of the space. We have so many books and we need a really big bookshelf. So, 4 years ago, when the house was still in construction I designed a glass and steel mezzanine exactly above our sofa. That would be the perfect location for a big bookshelf!
My dear mezzanine, here we are! If we are lucky the next week-end we are going to riddle you with holes!
The glass mezzanine requires a hanging bookshelf and it is long more than 3 meters. Of course there are nice bookshelf on the market but they are expensive and we have a small budget. So here we are with a really-laborious-DIY as we like! Today we are happy owners of wooden Spruce planks long more than 3 meters!
