Secondo giorno al Fuorisalone. Prima tappa della giornata La Triennale. All’interno dell’edificio ci sono varie mostre ed eventi. Interessanti al primo piano la mostra Hong Kong Design Constant Change promossa dall’HK Design Centre con bellissimi biglietti da visita origami e video che ricreano l’atmosfera della città.
Fuorisalone second day. First stop-over of the day: La Triennale. There are several events here. The exhibition Hong Kong Design Constant Change by HK Design Centre is very interesting. There are videos that recreate the Hong Kong experience and beautiful origami business cards.
Sempre al primo piano anche la mostra Constancy & Change in Korean Traditional Craft.

Carino l’allestimento di Safilo per i loro 80 anni: una grande nuvola di occhiali da vista sospesa.
The Safilo set-up is nice: a big cloud made by glasses.
Non ho capito bene ma tra Coreani, Giapponesi, Belgi e altro c’era anche una parte dove esponeva la Regione Puglia…
I didn’t understand well but between Korea, Japan, Belgium there is also the exhibition of the Regione Puglia.
Al piano terra c’è l’esposizione di The Art of Living by RCS Mediagroup. Nonostante si tratti solamente di un’esposizione da sponsor devo dire che l’allestimento era molto curato e interessante.
On the ground floor there is the exhibition The Art of Living by RCS Mediagroup. Even though it’s just an exhibition as media partner I have to admit that the set-up is very nice and interesting.
Interessante anche la mostra EcoDesign con progetti di sostenibilità e riciclabilità.
The exhibition Eco Design is very interesting, you can see furniture inspired by sustainability and recyclability.
Impressionante è l’allestimento di Citizen: Light is Time. Non ho visto un solo orologio esposto ma la scenografia era davvero di grande impatto, creata sospendendo parti dorate di orologi. Una sorta di pioggia dorata.
The set-up by Citizen: Light is Time is very impressive. I didn’t see any of watches exhibited but the scenic design is great, they made it hanging golden parts of watches. Something like a golden rain.
Sempre a piano terra ci sono le mostre Belgium is Design: Reflections, da cui mi aspettavo un pò di più, anche se ci sono pezzi interessanti, Blackbody: Light Sculptures, con un bell’allestimento, designer orientali e altro.
On the ground floor there are also exhibitions: Belgium is Design: Reflections, I was expecting more than what I’ve seen even there are some interesting things; Blackbody: Light Sculptures, with a nice set-up, eastern designer and more.
Devo dire che però a parte Citizen e poco altro sono rimasta un pò delusa dalla Triennale. Principalmente perchè hanno tanto pubblicizzato gli ingressi gratuiti ai musei in questa settimana e La Triennale si paga. Il museo del design è a pagamento. Vi segnalo però i bellissimi bagni firmati Boffi, Flos e altri, con tanto di cromoterapia!
I have to admit that beyond Citizen and something else, I am a little bit disappointed by the Triennale. First of all around Milan you can find a lot of advertises about free entrances in museums in Milan and here to visit the Design museum you have to pay. I would like to recommend beautiful toilettes designed by Boffi, Flos and others.
Dopo la Triennale ho fatto un salto in via Revere a vedere le cose esposte di una mia cara amica presso Kidsroom e poi sono tornata verso Brera per vedere le location che ieri ancora non erano aperte. Ho attraversato Parco Sempione e io ve lo dico: Milano è bellissima!
After the Triennale I visited a location in via Revere to see a my dear friend that exhibits her products at Kidsroom. Then I came back to Brera area to see what I’ve missed yesterday. I went through Parco Sempione and I have to tell you: Milan is beautiful!
Swedish design goes Milan – In real life, La Posteria, Via Sacchi 5. Gli svedesi mi piacciono sempre, il posto è bello, anche se alcune cose le avevo già viste alla Pelota.

Poi da Nendo for Cos, via delle Erbe 2. Altro evento da non perdere! La prova che con una semplice camicia bianca si può fare davvero una magia! E la magia di Nendo è super confermata nel piano inferiore dove sono esposti dei suoi prodotti dal design semplice ma dall’idea geniale. Stupende queste sedie che non sono semplicemente dipinte ma sono ricoperte di filo da pesca che le rende lucide e con una ricca texture. Senza parole anche queste ciotole in silicone che un ventilatore muove. Sul mio instagram trovate il video!
Then Nendo for Cos. Do not miss it! With a simple white shirt he made the magic! And Nendo’s magic is confirmed in the basement with some of his products very simple but came from bright ideas. Awesome these chairs with fishing line wounded around. This gave them a new luster and a fine texture. No words also for these silicone bowls, a fan moves them. You can find a video on my instagram!
Università Teologica, Chiostri di San Simpliciano, Via Tessa. Da non perdere l’occasione di poter passeggiare nei chiostri dell’università teologica dove sono esposti dei tappeti e il bell’evento di Marcel Wanders per Barovier & Toso. Atmosfera magica delle favole. Molto comoda l’area relax!
Theology University, San Simpliciano colonnade, Via Tessa. You can’t miss the opportunity to visit the colonnade. There are exhibited carpets and the beautiful event by Marcel Wanders for Barovier & Toso. Magical atmosphere directly from a fairy tale. The lounge in the courtyard is very comfortable!
Moroso credo proprio si possa evitare. Allestimento di Martino Gamper e Peter McDonald ma proprio non mi è piaciuto. Sono finiti i tempi in cui faceva allestimenti che simulavano piogge tropicali!
I think that you can miss Moroso. Installation by Martino Gamper e Peter McDonald but I didn’t like it. There was a time when they had installation with tropical storm…

Lexus Design Amazing 2014, Circolo Filologico Milanese, Via Clerici 10. Incredibile cosa fanno fare a dei cubetti bianchi, se muovete una mano seguono il vostro movimento (MIT Media Lab)! Molto bello anche l’allestimento di Nao Tamura. Quello di Fabio Novembre non mi è piaciuto, si vede però chiaramente che non è un orientale.
Lexus Design Amazing 2014, Circolo Filologico Milanese, Via Clerici 10. It’s incredible what they did with white cubes, if you’ll move your hands they will follow your movement (MIT Media Lab)! Very nice also the installation by Nao Tamura. I didn’t like the one by Fabio Novembre, you can understand immediately that he is not from East.
Palazzo Clerici, via Clerici 5. Area relax by Nike, tavolo da ping pong in marmo, al primo piano Islands by raw-edges design studio. Grande piano lavoro con albero di limoni nel centro. Nelle varie stanze Atelier Clerici. Progetti interessanti in uno spazio bellissimo. In una stanza mettendo una super tuta è possibile provare un nuovo materiale!
Palazzo Clerici, via Clerici 5. Relaxing area by Nike, ping-pong marble table, at the first floor. Islands by raw-edges design studio. Big worktop with a lemon tree in the middle. Atelier Clerici in other spaces. Very interesting projects in a beautiful location. You can also play with a new material, you have just to wear a super suite!
Nel pomeriggio ho cambiato zona, sono andata a Ventura Lambrate. Molti spazi espositivi. Molto interessante Ex Bazzi, Via dei Canzi.
In the afternoon I’ve been in Ventura Lambrate. Here there are many locations. Ex Bazzi is one very interesting, Via dei Canzi.
Non ho potuto resistere e ho comprato uno di questi vasi in carta con pieghe incise, realizzati da donne indiane, i designer Pepe Heykoop & Tiny Miracles vogliono aiutarle nella loro condizione lavorativa.
I can’t wait, I’ve bought one of these paper vases, they are made by Indian women, the designer Pepe Heykoop & Tiny Miracles want to help them in their work condition.
Questa è la zona del design giovane, olandese, nordico, e quest’anno noto anche Sloveno e dall’est europa. Ambiente rilassato e informale, qui è quasi impossibile sentire parlare in italiano.
This is the area of young design, dutch, northern and this year I’ve noticed Slovenia and East Europe. Everyone is relaxed and informal, here it’s quite impossible hear someone speaking in Italian.

Grande presenza delle scuole di Design nordiche. Attenzione ai materiali e all’impiego della chimica e fisica. Interessante ma forse troppo spazio.
Huge presence of Northern School of design. Attention to new materials, chemistry and physics for design. Interesting but maybe it’s too much.
Padiglione Italia. Timida presenza italiana in questa enclave nordica. Timida. Forse un filo pericolosa, nel senso che si parla tanto di non racchiudere l’Italia nei soliti luoghi comuni e poi tra i pochi oggetti proposti uno scolapasta e uno sgabello dedicato alla mamma.
Padiglione Italia. Very shy Italian presence in this Northern enclave. Shy. Maybe a little dangerous, I mean, we talk a lot about not fix the Italian idea in common fallacy and here they present few object among which a strainer and a stool dedicated to the mum.
Self Un Self, Design Academy of Eindhoven, Via Cletto Arrighi 19. Lontana dalle altre location. Ente importante, location particolare e nuova ma forse non vale la pena.

Via Massimiano, Ventura Living Room. Qui forte presenza italiana. Artigianato più che design. Quasi sull’orlo del trash. Alcune cose sempre valide ma la maggioranza confonde.

Via Ventura – Bombelli. In questo spazio ex industriale un mix: relax, cioccolato, barbiere… belli i piatti in ceramica con carne e pesce, un modo per proporre giorni “vegetariani”: “Steak is already in your plate, just add your veggies!” By Annebet Philip.

Via Ventura 15. Groundfloor. Esposizione interessante, qui ho finalmente trovato la mostra The Other Hemisphere di cui avevo parlato in questo post. Purtroppo però ci sono pochissimi pezzi… ma c’è il caffè tanto promesso! Molto belle librerie e arredi nei toni pastello.
Via Ventura 15. Groundfloor. Interesting exhibition, I’ve found here finally the exhibition The Other Hemisphere, I wrote about it in this post. It’s a pity, there are just few pieces… but there is the coffee that they had anticipated! Very nice bookshelves and pastel furniture.
Quando quasi mi ero rassegnata ecco la sorpresa: Head – Geneva University of Art and Design, Conversation pieces, Via Sbodio 30. Un appartamento disegnato dagli studenti. Un ambiente unico declinato in modi diversi a seconda delle stanze. Già l’ingresso è un’esplosione di colore, all’interno una stanza interamente fucsia, una totalmente bianca in carta, e un ambiente di ingresso interamente in legno. Molto bello.
I was almost resigned but here there was the surprise: Head – Geneva University of Art and Design, Conversation pieces, Via Sbodio 30. An apartment developed by students. A global project with every room different. Also the outside is an explosion of color, inside there is a room total pink, one in white paper! Very nice!
Dopo tanti anni questa è la prima volta che zona Ventura Lambrate non mi ha convinto al 100%. Tante cose, molte ispirazioni ma qualcosa di meno rispetto agli anni scorsi. Vedremo domani cosa scopriamo!
After so many year this is the first time that Ventura Lambrate doesn’t convince me 100%. There are a lot of interesting things and inspirations but less than other years. Let’s see what we could find tomorrow!
