CHANEL BLOSSOMS

Sicuramente anche i vostri Facebook e Twitter sono stati invasi da fotografie e commenti della sfilata di Chanel che si è tenuta settimana scorsa al Grand Palais, Haute Couture primavera/estate 2015, ma non posso certo esimermi dal parlarne. Ne sono a dir poco ossessionata! Non so dirvi quante foto e video ho visto! Il tutto non per i vestiti ma per l’allestimento! Stupendo!

I’m sure that last week also your Facebook and Twitter were overwhelmed with pics and comments from the Haute Couture Chanel fashion show at Grand Palais in Paris. I have to talk about it! I can not tell you how many photos and videos I’ve seen! I’m quite obsessed with this fashion show, not for dresses but for the outstanding show decor.

Nella cornice del Grand Palais che già di suo ha un fascino pazzesco, è stata costruita una serra circolare contenente un giardino botanico magico. La sfilata inizia nel candore immobile per poi prendere vita e letteralmente il giardino esotico di carta si anima facendo sbocciare fiori di mille colori! Incredibile!

Grand Palais is a breathtaking location by itself but Chanel built a circular greenhouse filled with a magical botanical garden. The show begun with calm and whiteness and suddenly the magic garden came alive literally blossoming flowers in bold colors! Amazing!

Sull’account Instagram di Chanel l’evento era stato annunciato in sordina e molto cripticamente, ma già l’invito faceva pensare a carta, origami e lavorazioni speciali per i tessuti. Qui la foto da Instagram di Araya Hargate.

Chanel published on their Instagram profile a pic about the show but it was very cryptic and ambiguous. The invitation card told something more about paper, origami and incredible handmade textiles. This is the pic from Araya Hargate’s Instagram.

Già nel 2009 Chanel ha allestito una sfilata con fiori in carta e origami ma questa volta hanno fatto un capolavoro!

Also in 2009 Chanel decorated their show with paper flowers and origami but this time they realize a real masterpiece!

Karl Lagerfeld in persona sembra aver avuto la visione di questo allestimento e ci sono voluti – stando a Vogue – 6 mesi per realizzare l’allestimento con una squadra di ingegneri e più di 300 motori che danno vita alle meravigliose creazioni di carta. Immediatamente la mia mente ha iniziato a chiedersi: CHI, chi, chi ha realizzato fisicamente tutto questo? Come? Dove? Nonostante le innumerevoli ricerche in internet che ho fatto non ho trovato informazioni a riguardo! Se sapete qualcosa parlate! Vi prego!! Questo è esattamente quello che sogno di fare un giorno!

Karl Lagerfeld dreamed up the concept of the show decor. According with Vogue this took about 6 month of works, a team of engineers and more than 300 machines bringing all these amazing paper creations into life. Since the very first moment I had only one question: WHO, who, who did make all this? How? Where? I made my web researches but I couldn’t find anything! Please, if anyone knows something, please, speak up! I have to know because this is right what I dream about to do one day!

Vi consiglio di vedere il video della sfilata, specialmente l’inizio quando dopo che fanno la comparsa dei giardinieri con annaffiatoi in pelle marcati con la doppia C di Chanel il giardino esotico prende vita! E non solo nella parte centrale della scena ma anche alle spalle delle persone presenti! Se fossi stata presente credo che mi sarei commossa!! Fiori meccanici in carta che sbocciano e rivelano colori vivaci. Che visione stupenda! Peccato l’accompagnamento “musicale”… Perché Karl, perché?

If you would like to see this miracle with your own eyes this is the link to the video of the show. At the beginning gardeners come out with leather watering cans with the Chanel logo and the botanical garden comes alive! This happens not just in the central part of the location but also behind the public! If I was been there I would tear up for sure!! Mechanical paper flowers blooming and revealing bold colors. What an amazing view! What a pity the “musical” part instead… why Karl, why did you let this happen?

Sui vestiti e la sfilata non mi pronuncio ma sicuramente le modelle saranno state felicissime di camminare rasoterra senza tacchi! Durante la sfilata a poco a poco è come se anche i vestiti abbiano iniziato a fiorire con applicazioni in 3D e lavorazioni incredibili. Qui potete vedere il video del making of di queste decorazioni. Una lavorazione incredibile. Davvero grandi applausi agli artigiani che realizzano fisicamente queste cose.
L’ultima mia domanda è: ma con che coraggio avranno smontato tutto questo?? Che fine avrà fatto?

I have not so much to say about dresses but models would be surely happy to walk without heels! During the show also dresses seemed bloom with 3D flowers. This is the video of the making of, an incredible handmade work! I really clap for the ability of artisans who made these!
My last question is: how could they dismantle all of this?? Where do they take everything?
