    Train commuters in the city of Overvecht in the Netherlands have been offered the choice of the taking the stairs, or using a slide.

    Non solo opere d’ingegneria: in giro per il mondo ci sono anche scivoli-opere d’arte! Questi sono tutti realizzati dall’artista belga Carsten Höller (se siete a Milano, non perdete la sua mostra ora all’Hangar Bicocca), autore anche dello spettacolare allestimento nella Turbine Hall della Tate Gallery di Londra nel 2007.

    Slides are not just works of engineering: around the world there are slides that are installations of art! These are all realized by the Belgian artist Carsten Höller (if you’re in Milan, do not miss his exhibition now at Hangar Bicocca), who also designed the spectacular installation in the Turbine Hall of the Tate Gallery in London in 2007.

    The Slide was created by the artists Carsten Höller and Anish Kapoor, designer of the ArcelorMittal Orbit. It is a unique collaboration between two of the world’s leading artists and a major new art installation for London, as well as yet another reason to visit Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, fast becoming London’s most exciting playground! Visitors will descend the world’s highest and, at 178m, the world’s longest tunnel slide, as they travel down the UK’s tallest public artwork.
