E’ un pò che ve ne volevo parlare e ultimamente li vedo un po’ ovunque: i paraventi Opto di Colè del duo Lorenz+Kaz. Belli e divertenti, cornici in legno irregolari e pannelli in metallo tagliati, o meglio “ricamati”, al laser. Il richiamo è all’arte della Bauhaus, in particolare ai fotogrammi e alle fotografie di Lazlo Moholy Nagy. Sembra di vedere i colori dei dipinti di Moholy Nagy combinati con le geometrie delle sue fotografie.
I wanted to talk about these Opto screens by Colè, designed by Lorenz+Kaz studio, from a while, and lately I see them pretty everywhere. They are cool and fun with wooden frames, irregular geometry and metal panels laser cut. Opto screens are inspired by the Bauhaus art, in particular by Lazlo Moholy Nagy photograms and pictures. Seems that Lorenz+Kaz mixed colors from Moholy Nagy paintings and geometries from his pictures.
I pannelli sono combinabili e in toni pastelli o in nero, essenziali e minimali. Non si pensa spesso ai paraventi in situazioni quotidiane ma in realtà sono una soluzione davvero polifunzionale e trasformista. Aiutano a dividere lo spazio, ad organizzarlo ma sono anche decorativi e possono nascondere molto!
Combining panels in pastel colors or black, very essential and minimal. I don’t think usually of screens in daily use but they could be a very interesting and useful solution. Screens helps separating and organizing space, they also can be ornamental and can help hiding a lot behind them!
Lorenz+Kaz è uno studio milanese formato da due designer tedeschi – Catharina Lorenz and Steffen Kaz – ma ormai italiani da adozione. Vi parlerò di loro perché sono davvero bravi! Hanno uno stile ibrido che possiamo chiamare “nordico-italiano“!
Lorenz+Kaz is a milanese studio founded by two German designers – Catharina Lorenz and Steffen Kaz – both living and working in Italy. I will tell you more about them because I really like their works. Their design has a sort of hybrid “nordic- italian” style!
