How to pack the perfect\u00a0suitcase?<\/strong> And the hand luggage<\/strong>? Today we pack\u00a0together and\u00a0I’ll show you all my “techniques” and I’ll give you some advices!<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are\u00a0going to\u00a0Tokyo tomorrow, we will stay there\u00a0for a week with a small stop over in Doha, Qatar, on the way back.<\/p>\n

9 tips on how to pack the perfect suitcase<\/h4>\n

Fabrics that do not wrinkle\u00a0too much.<\/strong> When you decide what to put in your suitcase choose clothes and fabrics that do not wrinkle too much. This is a very useful tip!<\/p>\n

Basic pieces that match\u00a0easily.<\/strong> The best thing to avoid\u00a0being on a trip with clean clothes but “nothing to\u00a0wear” would be think an\u00a0outfit for every day. I don’t do this\u00a0… I’m too lazy! I just\u00a0choose basic pieces and colors that match easily<\/strong> without too much effort! For me it’s all about white, black, jeans and stripes\u00a0(okay, maybe it’s time I admit I have a problem with stripes…). Accessories will add the color accent<\/strong>: pink bag for me!<\/p>\n

Dresses.<\/strong>\u00a0This would be a nice choice for women: you will save space! You wear a dress, instead of a t-shirt + skirt\/pants and you will be ready with one piece!<\/p>\n

Jeans<\/strong>. A pair of jeans is always\u00a0perfect, if the flight is long I put it in the suitcase, I prefer travel\u00a0wearing\u00a0something\u00a0more comfortable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Fabric shopping bag<\/b>.\u00a0I have always in my suitcase a fabric shopping bag, it will\u00a0be your\u00a0extra bag for any emergency: it will save you even if your purchases will not fit all in your\u00a0suitcase…<\/p>\n

Umbrella.<\/strong> We hope we do not have to use it but take it with you in any case. We are going to Tokyo it has to be Kawaiiiii! \ud83d\ude09\"come-fare-la-valigia-2\"<\/p>\n

Organizer<\/strong>.\u00a0I was skeptical too but now I don’t pack\u00a0without them! Muji’s garment cases<\/a> are my favorite\u00a0for clothes. In particular those with\u00a0double zip giving you the flexibility to pack a variety of items in one cube while still keeping them organized and <\/strong>within easy reach.<\/strong><\/p>\n

How to pack shoes.<\/strong> You can use bag for shoes too (Seletti has a huge variety!<\/a>) but a simple\u00a0shower cap<\/strong> will be perfect!\u00a0You should start to collect them in hotels, they are really useful!<\/p>\n

Scented suitcase.<\/strong> Tip: When you put away\u00a0your suitcase (clean it after every travel, I recommend it!) put inside it\u00a0a scented bag. I leave it\u00a0inside even when I travel: your luggage will\u00a0smell fresh!<\/strong><\/p>\n

And what about the hand luggage?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

What to pack in your hand luggage: 14 things you’ll need<\/h4>\n

Let’s talk about hand luggage, the one you’ll take with you on the plane<\/strong>. If the\u00a0flight\u00a0is long I\u00a0prefer use\u00a0a backpack<\/strong>, maybe a slim one that when I’ll arrived I’ll put\u00a0in the suitcase.<\/p>\n

Travel light<\/strong>. This\u00a0is my first requirement for the hand luggage (and low cost airlines think it too).<\/p>\n

Passport and tickets.<\/strong> Documents, money … all you need. For the tickets I prefer having everything on my iPhone<\/strong> so I won’t\u00a0risk to loose\u00a0anything! You can use airlines app or “Wallet” app<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Cables and chargers<\/strong>. I prefer keeping everything in my hand luggage, if unexpected or delay happens I could in any case\u00a0charge my iPhone or any other electronic device. No panic!<\/p>\n

Camera.<\/strong>\u00a0It never misses!<\/p>\n

Pen and paper.<\/strong> I always have a notebook and a pen with me.<\/p>\n

Travel guide.<\/strong>\u00a0You can use flight hours to plan your visit!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Book.<\/strong>\u00a0My Kindle\u00a0is always with me.<\/p>\n

Headphones or earphones.<\/strong>\u00a0You’ll need them\u00a0to entertain you\u00a0and, once you’ll be on the plane, you’ll use them watching movies.<\/p>\n

Business cards.<\/strong> You never know who you are going to\u00a0meet on your next trip! I still remember that time on a Fiumicino-Miami flight that I was sitting next to Marva Griffin (the founder of the Salone Satellite and Holy Protector of Young Designers …).<\/p>\n

Liquids bag.<\/strong>\u00a0You can carry in the hand luggage containers up to 100 ml in a 20×20 cm transparent bag<\/strong>. Keep it close, during security checks you will have to pass it separately under the x-rays.
\nLiquids also include cream, spray, gel, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and mascara.
\nMy liquid bag\u00a0is a kind\u00a0of a bag for all the occasions, it’s the result of years and years of travel and studies. Now it’s perfect! It definitely would deserve a dedicated post!
\nLipbalm, moisturizer, toothbrush and toothpaste<\/strong>: can not\u00a0miss!<\/p>\n

Change of clothes.<\/strong>\u00a0During long flight I have\u00a0in my hand luggage a change of clothes (in a separate bag that I will use\u00a0as laundry bag). Just\u00a0to travel comfortably.<\/p>\n

Eye mask\/socks<\/strong>. Consider that, depending on the airline\/class you’ll fly, you could get on board. Eye mask for sleep well \u00a0and\u00a0socks to get rid of your shoes and feel more comfortable (remember to put your shoes back before landing or you can risk that your\u00a0feet will swell).<\/p>\n

Earplugs.<\/strong>\u00a0Headphones help but the earplugs\u00a0will cancel\u00a0engine\u00a0noise.<\/p>\n

Hoodie.<\/strong> This is kind my uniform when I travel! I hate air conditioning\u00a0on\u00a0the plane and the hood will\u00a0keep my head warm, I usually have a light scarf too.<\/p>\n

In the end… When you pack your\u00a0suitcase think about where you are going. If it is a city or a hyper-civilized place do not worry about forgetting something, there will be plenty of stores\u00a0at your destination! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

Another thing: you can find the “packing list” at\u00a0Tiger<\/a>: it will help you to don’t forget anything… even if I would have some additions to make!<\/p>\n
