If you love Scandinavian\u00a0design and stationery<\/strong> you’ll adore\u00a0the Normann Copenhagen Daily Fiction collection<\/strong>: a perfect combo, I talked about\u00a0it here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The collection is finally arrived in Milan<\/strong> thanks to “Design Souvenir”<\/strong> a collaborative project between the Danish brand, the Milan store Design Republic and simple flair, a website with\u00a0a fresh and contemporary vision of the design world.<\/p>\n

simple flair <\/b>is made by Simona Flacco and Riccardo Crenna, a beautiful couple at work and in life I met in Tourin at Operae<\/a>, we immediately find a good connection as all we\u00a0love design, travel and architecture! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

A few days ago I met Simona and asked her to tell us about the “Design Souvenir” project:<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0How did the “Design Souvenir”\u00a0project\u00a0come out and what made you\u00a0choose the Normann Copenhagen stationery collection?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.\u00a0<\/b>Design Souvenir is born from the desire to produce a content for Design Republic store telling more about their world through our vision of design.
\nOn simple flair we talk about design from our point of view<\/strong> and today many companies are asking us to make our own project\u00a0to tell more about\u00a0their realities.
\nWe chose a small scale for this\u00a0project, we went for the millenials\u00a0target and we choose a brand that we\u00a0love<\/strong>:\u00a0Normann Copenhagen with the Daily Fiction collection was perfect!<\/p>\n

Q. How did you design the installation? I’ve loved colors and the azure carpet!<\/strong><\/p>\n

A. <\/strong>Actually the installation was just the final step. We designed it as Studio Modulo, the studio we founded with\u00a0Silvia Fumagalli.\u00a0We can\u00a0work with\u00a0design at 360 \u00b0<\/strong>: with simple flair we take care of the “intangible” part, like the company’s projects, and with Studio Modulo we take care of the more “tangible” aspect\u00a0as\u00a0interior designs, installations\u00a0and products.

Q. In this project you’ve worked with stationery as design pieces: how did it happen?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A. Everything can turn into design with a solid company is behind it.\u00a0<\/b>The Daily Fiction collection is a kind of\u00a0“adult candy store” as they call it and I’ve really felt this way… I\u00a0would love\u00a0to take home every single piece!<\/p>\n

Q. In this project you are talking to Millenials, how do they relate with design?<\/b><\/p>\n

A.<\/strong> If you are talking to Millennials\u00a0you have to handle different products and a different communications strategy.\u00a0Millennials are digital native, they use the web to find informations, they do not trust traditional advertising claims. You have to change the rules: you need to be lighter, take yourself less seriously, forget about selling, you are proposing contents and ideas.<\/strong>
\nCompanies need to understand\u00a0this\u00a0and produce contents speaking the language\u00a0of Millennials<\/strong>, they will be customers today and tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Q. We are talking about travel and souvenir… what’s never missing in your suitcase?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.<\/strong> The camera and a map of the place we are going to visit are always present<\/strong>. Before the departure\u00a0we make a lot of research\u00a0to be sure we won’t miss a thing! That’s exactly why we’ve been posting, since December, our personal guide on simple flair. We started with London and Berlin, choosing to make PDFs available for download so you can print it and\u00a0bring along!<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0Is there anything in particular that you usually take home from your\u00a0traveling?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A.\u00a0<\/strong>Usually we love\u00a0discover in a new city concept stores and bookstores<\/strong>, we often come\u00a0back with a new piece for our home<\/strong>. Ceramics, books<\/strong> but very often even cloths by brand you cannot find\u00a0in Milan.<\/p>\n

Q. What’s next? How Design Souvenir is going to grow?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.<\/b> Design Souvenir will be going on through various stages<\/strong>, there was the launch event on May 17th but the Daily Fiction collection will still be\u00a0available for sale at\u00a0Design Republic store.
\nActually there is a new project<\/strong> with simple flair, we would like to tell you more\u00a0about it but we have to wait … stay tuned! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
