In less than two hours\u00a0by car<\/strong> you can drive\u00a0from Manhattan<\/strong> in\u00a0one of the most famous and exclusive place in the world: the Hamptons<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

“The Hamptons” refers in particular to the towns of Southampton and East Hampton<\/strong> located at the Eastern end of Long Island.
\nThe Hamptons are famous for hosting summer residences of celebrities and wealthy New Yorkers.\u00a0Here many movies and series are set, from The Great Gatsby to Gossip Girl!<\/p>\n

Traffic permitting (the main road that runs through Long Island is very busy during the Summer) you can come to the Hamptons in a day trip<\/strong> or this\u00a0is the ideal place to spend a weekend<\/strong> immersed in nature just a few hours\u00a0from New York!\"Hamptons-New-York-day-trip\"<\/p>\n

You can reach the Hamptons by car<\/strong> or by bus<\/strong> with the Hampton Jitney<\/a> ($ 30 each way with departures from\u00a0different places in Manhattan) or by train<\/strong> with Cannonball Hampton Reserve Eastbound Service<\/a> from Penn Station.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0East Hampton and South Hampton you can admire\u00a0the most amazing and luxurious villas that you can imagine, surrounded by greenery or\u00a0overlooking endless beaches of white sand<\/strong>. The huge open spaces\u00a0allow\u00a0you\u00a0to find easily an entire\u00a0beach all for yourself, I do not wonder that celebrities choose these places for their holidays!
\n\"Hamptons-47\" \"Hamptons-16\" \"Hamptons-17\" \"Hamptons-18\"\"Hamptons-15\" \"Hamptons-11\"<\/p>\n

White beaches, great nature\u00a0and beautiful sea! We are speaking of the Atlantic Ocean but here you can easily swim, the\u00a0water is not too cold and it’s perfect for a bit ‘of refreshment in the Summer heat!<\/p>\n

But just take a walk, or move around by bike in perfect Hamptons style, and you’ll find the main road with\u00a0super luxury shops and great places to eat or drink something (pay attention to the prices though!).\"Hamptons-2\" \"Hamptons-7\" \"Hamptons-26\" \"Hamptons-40\" \"Hamptons-42\"<\/p>\n

The Hamptons have not always as\u00a0chic as they are\u00a0today: in the ’30s and ’40s this was the place where artists of the Abstract Expressionism took refuge looking for some quiet from the bustle of Manhattan. Here in the ’40s there was\u00a0a kind of artistic community: Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline… they all lived here painting and enjoying the beautiful nature of the place.\"Hamptons-8\" \"Hamptons-22\" \"Hamptons-24\" \"Hamptons-25\" \"Hamptons-27\" \"Hamptons-45\"\"Hamptons-21\" \"Hamptons-13\"<\/p>\n

To go back to that\u00a0time push yourselves beyond the tourist Hamptons and venture out to Montauk or Spring, here you can still find the Jackson Pollock’s\u00a0house and museum – I’m writing a dedicated post about it!<\/p>\n

Do not miss\u00a0Sag Harbor, on the North coast of Long Island: an amazing place where you’ll feel\u00a0like in a movie!<\/p>\n

After a day or a weekend here\u00a0it’s time to go back in\u00a0the city … Manhattan will welcome you with open arms!\"Hamptons-12\"<\/p>\n
