Today air travel is certainly not a relaxing experience, the airport is a place of chaos and endless queues at security checkpoints, aircrafts are basically buses with wings.<\/p>\n

Traveling with style is possible, even at the airport!<\/h4>\n

Airport lounges are some of the frequent flyer’s best kept secrets<\/strong>, that allow you\u00a0to travel in relax and with the glamor and style of the ’60s and ’70s Jet Age.<\/p>\n

The Jet Age glamour<\/h4>\n

In 1958<\/strong> airlines\u00a0started to fly between Europe and the United States using\u00a0first passenger jet airplanes<\/strong>, traveling times were\u00a0halved and flying became affordable for businessmen and wealthy tourists.<\/p>\n

This was the beginning of the Jet Age,\u00a0the golden era of air travels!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Airlines were competing to give the best service on board<\/strong>, with sophisticated food\u00a0and hostesses that pour champagne in high fashion uniforms. The cabins of the planes\u00a0were equipped with\u00a0sofas, lounge areas and onboard bars. The atmosphere was quite similar to\u00a0an elegant high-flying party.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Flying was a matter of\u00a0style<\/h4>\n

In this golden era, the airport was a place out of time and space<\/strong>, where everything was modern and\u00a0shining, a gate\u00a0to an optimistic and bright future\u00a0of a smaller\u00a0world. We’re talking about a time in which\u00a0having breakfast in London and dine in New York was a revolutionary innovation, when flying was the most amazing experience that a traveler could have.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Air terminals: design masterpieces<\/h4>\n

The experience was the same at\u00a0the airport and on board. New terminals were designed by\u00a0great architects and designers of those years<\/strong>. Eero Saarinen<\/strong><\/a> created his masterpiece for TWA in New York, Paul Andreu<\/strong> designed the futuristic Terminal 1 of Charles de Gaulle in Paris, Alexander Girard<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0transformed Braniff Airlines with the\u00a0best coordinated design ever.<\/p>\n
