Si \u00e8 conclusa lo scorso week-end la decida edizione di Design Miami<\/strong>, la fiera di design in contemporanea a Miami Art Basel fondata da Ambra Medda<\/strong>. E gi\u00e0 qui avrei da parlarvene a lungo: Ambra Medda \u00e8 la mia “wanna be”\u00a0in assoluto!<\/p>\n

Sunday was the last day of this 10th edition of Design Miami<\/strong>, the design fair during the Miami Art Basel. The fair was founded by Ambra Medda<\/strong>. I’ll have so much to tell you about her because Ambra Medda is totally\u00a0my “wanna be”!<\/em><\/p>\n

Design Miami \u00e8 un’esposizione di design internazionale. Nasce a Miami Beach ma \u00e8 stata ben presto portata anche a Basilea. Cos\u00ec se ne tiene una in dicembre al caldo sole della Florida e una a giugno nella frescura Svizzera!
\nDue anni fa sono andata di persona a Miami<\/strong> per vedere con i miei occhi questa versione americana di Art Basel. Si sa, gli americani fanno le cose in grande! Nelle sale del Convention Centre opere da museo e nella sera dell’inaugurazione c’era tutta l’elite che conta, una commistione culturale, con una grande presenza di arte, artisti, gallerie e collezionisti anche dal Sud America, frontiera per noi europei ancora piuttosto lontana.
\nDesign Miami \u00e8 proprio l\u00ec, vicinissimo alla fiera principale, in una tensostruttura che due anni fa aveva un ingresso-installazione davvero scenografica. Mi ero\u00a0immaginata la fiera immensa e invece non \u00e8 molto grande. Grandi sono gli spazi espositivi per ogni galleria. Qui solo i big. Un’altra cosa che mi aveva stupito era la grande attenzione per il gioiello d’artista, la ceramica e l’arte applicata in generale. Onnipresente ovviamente il design storico italiano e francese, mentre sul contemporaneo il campo era ed \u00e8 un p\u00f2 pi\u00f9 regolato dagli americani.<\/p>\n

Design Miami is an exhibition of international design. It started in Miami but soon they open another edition in Basel. In this way you can have an edition in December with the Florida hot sun and another one in June in the freshness of Switzerland!<\/em>
\nTwo years ago I was there<\/strong> seeing with my own eyes this American version of Art Basel. As everyone knows American people do everything in great style! In the Convention Centre were exhibited museum pieces, at the opening there were the \u00e8lite, a cultural mixture with a big presence of South American art, artists, gallery and collectors. For us European South American is quite still a far away frontier.
\n<\/em>Design Miami is really close to Miami Art Basel, in a pavillon. Two years ago there was a very incredible and theatrical entrance. I imagined it as a huge fair but it isn’t. There are few selected galleries and everyone has very large exhibition space. Just the big are here. Another thing I noticed was the great attention to jewels made by artists, to ceramics and to applied art. Italian and French historical design had a great part in the exhibition, instead talking about the contemporary design there were more American names.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Ma torniamo a quest’anno: la decima edizione<\/strong>. Un anniversario importante. 35 gli espositori, tre le gallerie italiane presenti<\/strong>: Galleria Nilufar, Erastudio Apartment Gallery, entrambe gallerie milanesi, e Galleria O. di Roma.<\/p>\n

But go back to this year: the 10th edition<\/strong>. A very important anniversary. 35 galleries, just three italian galleries<\/strong>: Nilufar Gallery and Erastudio Apartment Gallery from Milan, and Galleria O. from Rome.<\/em><\/p>\n

Bellissime le ceramiche colorate di Takuro Kuwata<\/strong>\u00a0(Galleria Pierre Marie Giraud) e le raffinate e divertenti collane di Andrea Branzi<\/strong>\u00a0(Caroline Van Hoek)- che mi ricordano subito i teatrini che avevo visto durante il Fuori Salone alla Galleria Clio Calvi e Rudy Volpi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I really love the colorful ceramics by Takuro Kuwata<\/strong>\u00a0(Gallery Pierre Marie Giraud) and jewels by Andrea Branzi<\/strong>\u00a0(Caroline Van Hoek)- I remember those magical maquettes I saw during the Fuori Salone at the Clio Calvi and Rudy Volpi Gallery<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sicuramente suggestiva deve essere stata l’installazione Ephemera<\/em> di mischer’traxler<\/strong> per Perrier-Jouet.
\nInstallazione interattiva<\/strong>: un lungo tavolo su cui apparentemente sono impresse silhouette di piante e fiori, la linea liberti di Perrier-Jouet ma proprio quando il visitatore pensa di aver capito e si allontana, avviene la magia. Le silhouette si alzano e il tavolo fiorisce in un tripudio naturale prendendo forma, colore e movimento.
\nGrande delicatezza e attenzione alla natura che caratterizza lo studio mischer’traxler di cui vi avevo gi\u00e0 parlato qui<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Perrier- Jouet commissioned a very emotional installation to mischer’traxler<\/strong>, “Ephemera”. This was an kinetic installation<\/strong>: table covered in silhouettes of plants and flowers reminding the Art Nouveau lines typical of the brand. When the visitor walked away here there was the magic: silhouettes raised up and plants bloomed all over the table\u00a0becaming a jubilation of Nature and colors.<\/em>
\nI’ve already talked to you about misher’traxler design here<\/a>. I love their attention to Nature and their elegance.<\/em><\/p>\n
