E non era il solo, agli inizi degli anni ’50 questa era la zona dove vivevano molti artisti dell’informale americano:\u00a0Willem de Kooning, Conrad Marca-Relli,\u00a0Robert Motherwell e altri. Oggi la casa di Pollock \u00e8 diventata un museo e si pu\u00f2 visitare. Di lui si sa tutto o quasi: il suo dripping l’ha reso celebre, il bourbon\u00a0l’ha fatto morire a 44 anni. Ma forse c’\u00e8 ancora una cosa che non sapevamo: Pollock cucinava benissimo! Lo sapevate?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spring, East Hampton<\/strong>. I imagine Spring very like Stars Hollow but here instead Gilmore Girls lived Jackson Pollock<\/strong>! He wasn’t the only one. In ’50 many American\u00a0artist of the abstract expressionist movement were living here, such as\u00a0Willem de Kooning, Conrad Marca-Relli, Robert Motherwell.\u00a0<\/em>
\nToday the Pollock’s house is a museum and you can visit it. We know pretty much everything about him: his drip painting made him famous, the bourbon killed him when he was\u00a044. But maybe there is something we do not know yet: do you know that Jackson Pollock was a great cook?\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

La scorsa settimana \u00e8 uscito il libro Dinner with Jackson Pollock<\/strong><\/em> della bravissima fotografa Robyn Lea, edito da Assouline. Robyn Lea<\/strong> ha scoperto le ricette scritte a mano da Pollock<\/strong> e dalla moglie Lee Krasner. Il museo ne aveva gi\u00e0 16 ma ne sono state scoperte a decine. Alcune sono scritte ordinatamente in un quaderno a spirale (a cui si rif\u00e0 l’edizione del libro), altre scritte direttamente da Pollock sono su fogli di fortuna: carta dell’Union Pacific Railway, buste di lettere, fogli del suo psichiatra.<\/p>\n

The book “Dinner with Jackson Pollock” by the photographer Robyn Lea was published last week by Assouline. Robyn Lea discovered many recipes in the Pollock’s house<\/strong>. The museum already had 16 recipes but she found many others. Some of them are written neatly on a spiral notebook (the book has the same layout), others written by Pollock are noted down on what he had at the moment: paper by\u00a0Union Pacific Railway, envelopes and paper from his psychiatrist.<\/em><\/p>\n

Robyn Lea ha messo insieme una squadra di chef per rifare le ricette di Pollock<\/strong>, ha fatto interviste e a raccolto aneddoti e ovviamente ha fotografato. Tutto questo ora \u00e8 contenuto nel libro.<\/p>\n

Lee, anche lei artista, era anche una sorta di manager: usava la cucina per circondare Pollock di amici ma anche di curatori, galleristi e giornalisti<\/strong>. Qui si scopriva la sua arte e la sua vita.<\/p>\n

Lee was an artist too, and a sort of a manager for her husband: she used cooking to surround Pollock with friends, curators, art dealers\u00a0and journalists<\/strong>. In that kitchen they could discover his art and his life.<\/em><\/p>\n
