Innanzitutto questa splendida foto spiega da sola perch\u00e9 l’abbiano chiamata Ice-land<\/em>! In particolare ho scritto dell’hotel Ion<\/strong><\/a>: un posto speciale, di design<\/strong> e assolutamente eco e green<\/strong>. Siamo stati in questo hotel da sogno per il 30esimo compleanno del mio Iceland-addicted-marito (non che io ne abbia altri!).<\/p>\n

First of all this amazing picture explain perfectly where the name Ice-land comes from! I wrote about the Ion hotel<\/strong><\/a>: an amazing place full of design and absolutely eco and green friendly. We were here for the 30th birthday of my Iceland-addicted-husband (just to be clear\u2026 I don’t have any others!).<\/em><\/p>\n

In un paesaggio lunare<\/strong>\u00a0lo Ion hotel sembra una navicella spaziale, un po’ Spazio:1999! Si trova a un’ora di macchina da Reykjavik<\/strong>, nel Golden Circle<\/strong> – zona di geyser, cascate e parchi naturali – e vicinissimo al Thingvellir National Park<\/strong>, un luogo pazzesco, il punto dove le placche americana ed europea si scontrano. Si pu\u00f2 letteralmente stare con un piede in America e uno in Europa!<\/p>\n

The Ion hotel is a kind of space ship in a moon landscape<\/strong>, a kind of Space:1999 ship! It is 1 hour by car from Reykjavik<\/strong>, in the Golden Circle<\/strong> – where there are geysers, waterfalls and natural parks. The Ion hotel is also near to\u00a0Thingvellir National Park<\/strong>, a\u00a0magic\u00a0place where American plate meets the Europian: you can literally keep a foot in America and the other one in Europe!<\/em><\/p>\n

Lo Ion hotel si trova a poche centinaia di metri da una delle centrali geotermiche che scalda Reykjavik<\/strong> e ne sfrutta l’acqua calda per il riscaldamento e per la bellissima piscina all’aperto (aperta 365 giorni all’anno!). \u00a0Si arriva costeggiando un fiumiciattolo fumante, in una valle incantata!<\/p>\n

The Ion hotel is not far from one of the geothermal power plant that warms up Reykjavik<\/strong> using its hot water for heating and the awesome outdoor\u00a0pool (open 365 days a year). When you go there you pass through a smoking river in a sort of enchanted valley!<\/em><\/p>\n

S\u00ec, tutta l’Islanda \u00e8 green<\/strong>. Il 99% dell’energia \u00e8 prodotta in maniera pulita<\/strong>. A loro basta fare un buco per terra per avere vapore e calore per cui riescono a mandare l’acqua calda in giro per l’Islanda. Nei bagni spesso trovate un cartello che vi avvisa di stare attenti che l’acqua calda “\u00e8 veramente calda”! Praticamente \u00e8 distillata dal magma!<\/p>\n

Yes, all Iceland is green<\/strong>. 99% of their energy is clean<\/strong>. They have just to drill a hole in the ground to find steam and heat bringing hot water around the Iceland. You can read often in restroom “Be careful the hot water is really hot”! Basically it comes from magma!<\/em><\/p>\n

Stare allo Ion hotel \u00e8 stata un’esperienza magnifica. E come ogni volta in Islanda siamo rimasti colpiti dalla loro\u00a0attenzione e consapevolezza della natura<\/strong>: enormi vetrate per sfruttare al massimo la luce naturale e poter ammirare l’Aurora direttamente dal bar!<\/p>\n

Our Ion experience was really great and as always we admire their attention and awareness of nature<\/strong>. There are huge window for the biggest show ever: the Northern Light! You can watch it directly from the bar!<\/em><\/p>\n
