Il pranzo va cucinato rigorosamente in casa!) e il vero protagonista del Ringraziamento \u00e8 il <strong>tacchino ripieno<\/strong>! Poveri tacchini, per loro non \u00e8 un bel periodo!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>George Washington<\/strong> in 1789 and then <strong>Abraham Lincoln<\/strong> in 1863 declared Thanksgiving <strong>national holiday<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>What is the tradition of Thanksgivig?<\/strong> Everyone spend the day <strong>at home with family and friends<\/strong> making a big dinner (baked home meal is one of the best part of the Thanksgiving!) and the real protagonist is the <strong>stuffed turkey<\/strong>! Questo merita una breve digressione: il mistero del tacchino. Questo pennuto \u00e8 un\u00a0<strong>gallinaceo originario dell&#8217;America Latina<\/strong> ma, e sottolineo il ma, sembra che anche gli antichi Greci e i Romani conoscessero ed apprezzassero la carne di tacchino che per\u00f2 scomparve dalle cronache storiche per riapparire solo nel 1525: in quell&#8217;anno, infatti, Gonzales Fernando di Oviedo, governatore di Hispaniola (l&#8217;attuale Repubblica Dominicana) lo descrive minuziosamente nel suo <em>Summario de la historia natural de las Indias Occidentales<\/em>\u00a0come una variet\u00e0 del pavone. Ironicamente, l\u2019americanissimo tacchino \u00e8 stato poi \u201creimportato\u201d pi\u00f9 di un secolo dopo sulle coste del Massachusetts dai Padri Pellegrini del Mayflower! Se il tacchino \u00e8 originario delle americhe, come facevano a conoscerlo gi\u00e0 Greci e Romani? Un&#8217;altro dei misteri storici per cui chiedo aiuto a Daniele Bossari e ad Adam Kadmon.<\/p>\n<p>Quando i padri pellegrini arrivarono sulle coste del Massachusets celebrarono il &#8220;primo&#8221; raccolto buono condividendo il pranzo con i nativi.\u00a0 Il Ringraziamento \u00e8 quindi\u00a0anche il <strong>simbolo di tolleranza,<\/strong> oltre che di <strong>riconoscenza e condivisione<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Why the turkey?<\/strong> It is <strong>native to the Americas<\/strong> and Azteco people offered it to Spanish conquistadores. Ironically turkeys were \u201cre-imported\u201d to America by the Pilgrim Fathers. When they arrived to Massachusets they\u00a0celebrated the \u201cfirst\u201d harvest sharing the meal with natives. Con il tacchino quello che non deve mancare mai sono:\u00a0pur\u00e9 di patate, patate dolci, salsa di mirtilli rossi, verdure e ovviamente la\u00a0<strong>torta di zucca<\/strong>. La celebre &#8216;pumpkin pie&#8217; \u00e8 l&#8217;altra grande protagonista della festa!<br \/>\nQui potete trovare\u00a0<strong><a href=\"\/?p=4624\">la ricetta della torta di zucca<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0che ho usato lo scorso anno e che ripropongo quest&#8217;anno! Chi non pu\u00f2 essere presente nella Grande Mela la pu\u00f2 anche seguire in diretta sulla NBC. La parata \u00e8 un tale monumento nazionale da avere film dedicati come Miracolo sulla 34a strada e pure canzoni come Macy\u2019s Day Parade dei Green Day! The most famouse of course it\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/social.macys.com\/parade\/\"><strong>the Macy\u2019s parade in New York city<\/strong><\/a>. The store organizes it since 1924, it leaves at 9 a.m. from the Upper West Side til the store in Herald Square. You can also watch it at home on the NBC. This parade is a kind of a myth and it\u2019s represented in many movies and songs such as Miracle on 34th Street and in the Macy\u2019s Day Parade by Green Day!
