Da oltre 60 anni<\/strong> i pattern di Marimekko fanno sognare il mondo intero, dai vestiti a fiori di Jacqueline Kennedy agli accessori per la casa. Nella bellissima location di Casa Marimekko,<\/strong>\u00a0ho avuto occasione di incontrare e intervistare Anna Teurnell<\/strong>, direttrice creativa di Marimekko<\/strong> (ex H&M e &Other Stories… e quest’ultimo si pu\u00f2 percepire!).
\nLa collezione attuale (Primavera\/Estate 2016<\/strong>) \u00e8 stata la prima interamente curata da Anna Teurnell<\/strong> e devo dire che ho avvertito forte il cambiamento. \u00c8 stata inserita anche una linea di pelletteria, occhiali, scarpe, borse e gioielli<\/strong>. Si gioca con il colore di Marimekko ma con una visione estremamente moderna. Anche per l’Autunno\/Inverno sar\u00e0 cos\u00ec. Tessuti, colori, stampe, dettagli tutti da scoprire<\/strong>… ho gi\u00e0 adocchiato un paio di scarpe rosse…!<\/p>\n

Durante l’intervista ero\u00a0molto emozionata e sapete qual \u00e8 l’incredibile coincidenza? Il primo post in assoluto di Gucki era proprio dedicato a Marimekko!<\/a><\/strong> Ero appena tornata da Helsinki (tappa dal rientro dal Giappone n.d.r.) e l\u00ec avevo scoperto l’intero mondo Marimekko, rimanendone estremamente affascinata!\u00a0 Ecco la nostra chiacchierata, che trovate anche su CasaFacile.it<\/a>,\u00a0in versione integrale!<\/p>\n

Com’\u00e8 finita? Che ho ottenuto un invito ufficiale alla sede centrale di Marimekko!<\/p>\n

D.<\/strong> Anna, tu sei svedese, da \u2018nordica\u2019 sei cresciuta con le stampe e i pattern Marimekko?
\n<\/em>R.<\/strong> S\u00ec, mia mamma era una donna molto moderna, le piaceva l\u2019idea di Marimekko: avere buoni prodotti di design per s\u00e8 stessa e per la casa. Avevamo un po\u2019 di Marimekko a casa: tende, tessuti, vestiti\u2026 L\u2019idea di base era abbastanza innovativa per quei tempi: realizzare oggetti, tessuti, abiti di buona fattura, moderni, per le donne e per la casa.<\/strong><\/p>\n

D.<\/strong> Cosa significa per te lavorare per Marimekko?<\/em>
\nR.<\/strong> Ho sempre apprezzato il buon design, i prodotti di qualit\u00e0. Una delle caratteristiche di Marimekko \u00e8 di non passare mai di moda.<\/strong> Le sue stampe e creazioni sono sempre attuali, sempre moderne, anche se magari si parla di una stampa degli anni \u201970. Ora, lavorandoci, sento di poter sperimentare, mixare stampe vintage con nuovi pattern<\/strong>. \u00c8 questo il segreto di Marimekko! Creare sempre qualcosa di nuovo senza mai perdere la propria identit\u00e0.<\/p>\n

D.<\/strong> Prima di Marimekko hai lavorato per tanti anni per H&M e & Other Stories. L\u00ec tutto era da inventare, qui in Marimekko hai a che fare con un incredibile archivio. Come ti rapporti?
\n<\/em>R.<\/strong> Di fatto non \u00e8 cambiato molto. Anche ora creiamo nuove stampe o magari ne rinventiamo di gi\u00e0 esistenti. I dettagli possono cambiare tutto!<\/strong> La libert\u00e0 creativa sta proprio qui: giocare, sperimentare, attingere dalla ricchezza dell\u2019archivio Marimekko<\/strong> e creare collezioni sempre nuove.<\/p>\n

D.<\/strong> Qui al Fuorisalone presentate la collezione Autunno\/Inverno 2016. Qual \u00e8 stata l\u2019ispirazione?<\/em>
\nR.<\/strong> Siamo partiti da una stampa degli anni \u201970<\/strong> che raffigura una citt\u00e0. In qualche modo, mi ha dato fin da subito una sensazione quasi surrealista. Abbiamo iniziato ad ingrandire i dettagli della stampa fino a creare pattern che non permettono pi\u00f9 di riconoscere il disegno di partenza. \u00c8 proprio questo sperimentare la bellezza di poter attingere a un archivio come quello di Marimekko. Abbiamo poi affiancato stampe nuove, righe, colori, accessori. Presentiamo anche una serie interamente nuova con porta candele, vasi in vetro, ceramiche con manici di pelle\u2026
\nQuello che vorrei trasmettere, abbracciando la filosofia Marimekko, \u00e8 la voglia di prendersi cura di s\u00e9 e del proprio quotidiano<\/strong>. I nostri piatti e set per la tavola sono pensati proprio per i pranzi e le cene di tutti i giorni<\/strong>. Basta poco, anche un semplice fiore a tavola, per dare a tutto un\u2019atmosfera diversa! Non aspettiamo le grandi occasioni, rendiamo ogni giorno speciale!<\/strong><\/p>\n

D.<\/strong> Hai qualche consiglio da dare alle nostre lettrici su come mixare i diversi pattern?<\/em>
\nR.<\/strong> Uno solo: sentitevi libere!<\/strong> Giocate con le stampe<\/strong> e le fantasie che amate. Seguite il vostro intuito, la vostra sensibilit\u00e0. Mettete insieme pi\u00f9 cose che vi piacciono, sembrer\u00e0 magari un accostamento strano ma per voi funzioner\u00e0! Si tratta solo di dosare le giuste quantit\u00e0.<\/strong><\/p>\n

D.<\/strong> Un\u2019ultima domanda: negli anni \u201960 Jacqueline Kennedy vestiva Marimekko, sono diventate celebri le sue fotografie con i vestiti a fiori. Oggi, se potessi scegliere un personaggio famoso, chi vorresti vedere in Marimekko?<\/em>
\nR.<\/strong> Mmm.. certo, mi farebbe piacere vedere qualche celebrity con le nostre creazioni, ma non sono le persone che speriamo di vestire. L\u2019altro giorno camminando per Milano ho visto una signora splendidamente vestita con una delle nostre borse dell\u2019ultima collezione. Mi ha fatto un\u2019enorme piacere vedere come la viveva nella sua quotidianit\u00e0 e come l\u2019aveva abbinata. A volte scopriamo cos\u00ec accostamenti perfettamente riusciti a cui non avevamo pensato!<\/strong> Ognuno deve creare il proprio stile<\/strong>, noi possiamo fornire gli strumenti!<\/p>\n

Marimekko<\/strong><\/a> exhibited unique Finnish design thinking in the heart of Brera during Milan Design Week 2016<\/strong>.\u00a0Finnish design house Marimekko took part in Milan Design Week by bringing the\u00a0Marimekko Home<\/strong> to the heart of Milan on 12\u201317 April 2016. Located in an apartment in\u00a0Via Palermo, the Marimekko Home invited\u00a0everyone\u00a0to take a peek\u00a0into the Finnish design brand\u2019s everyday aesthetic and celebrates its functionalistic and\u00a0inclusive design philosophy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Marimekko Home presented the design house’s fall\/winter 2016 collection.
\nFor over 60 years Marimekko patterns make everyone dream, from Jacqueline Kennedy’s floral clothes to home accessories. Marimekko never goes out of style!<\/p>\n

In the beautiful location of Casa Marimekko I had the opportunity to meet and interview Anna Teurnell, creative director of Marimekko.\u00a0I was very excited, do\u00a0you know that the very first post on Gucki<\/a> was precisely about\u00a0Marimekko? I had just returned from Helsinki (stop-over returning from Japan) and there I met\u00a0the whole world of Marimekko, and I fell in love!<\/p>\n

Q.<\/strong> Anna, you’re Swedish, did you grow up with Marimekko prints and patterns?<\/em>
\nA.<\/strong> Yes, my mom was a very modern woman<\/strong>, she liked the idea of Marimekko: have good design products for itself and for the house<\/strong>. We had a bit of Marimekko at home: curtains, fabrics, clothes … The basic idea was quite innovative for the\u00a0time: make objects, fabrics, well-made clothes, modern, for women and for the house.<\/p>\n

Q.<\/strong> What does it mean for you working for Marimekko?<\/em>
\nA.<\/strong> I have always appreciated good design and quality products. Marimekko never goes out of style!<\/strong>\u00a0Prints and design are always\u00a0modern even if we speak of a pattern from\u00a0the ’70s. Now, working on it, I feel I can experiment, mixing vintage prints with new patterns.<\/strong> This is the secret of Marimekko! Always create something new without losing our\u00a0identity.<\/p>\n

Q.<\/strong>\u00a0You worked many years for\u00a0H&M and & Other Stories basically from scratches. Here in Marimekko you’re dealing with an incredible archive. Do you change your way of work?<\/em>
\nA.<\/strong>\u00a0No, actually not much has changed. We create new prints and mix them with vintage. Details can change everything!<\/strong> Creative freedom is right here: play, experiment, pick patterns from the fabulous\u00a0Marimekko archive and create new collections.<\/p>\n

Q.<\/strong>\u00a0Here at Fuorisalone you present the\u00a0Fall\/Winter 2016 collection. What was the inspiration?<\/em>
\nA.<\/strong> We started with a print\u00a0from the ’70<\/strong>s rapresenting a city. But somehow, it\u00a0gave me immediately a nearly surrealistic feeling<\/strong>. We started to enlarge the print making some details from it and creating pattern that do not allow you more to recognize where we started. Than we mix&match with\u00a0new prints, stripes, colors, accessories. We also present an entirely new series for the home collection with candle holders, glass vases, pottery with leather handles…
\nEmbracing the Marimekko philosophy I would like\u00a0to spread the desire of taking care of ourselves in our\u00a0daily life<\/strong>. Our dishes and table set are designed just for everyday lunch and dinner. Take care, add even just a simple flower to\u00a0the table, and you’ll give to\u00a0everything a totally new atmosphere! You don’t need special occasion, let’s make every day special!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Q.<\/strong> Do you have any advice about how mix different pattern?<\/em>
\nA.<\/strong> Only one: feel free!<\/strong> Play with prints and patterns<\/strong> that you love. Follow your intuition, your sensitivity. Put together the things that you like, maybe it will seem a weird\u00a0combination but it will work for you!
\nQ.<\/strong> One last question: in the ’60s Jacqueline Kennedy wore Marimekko. Today, if you could choose a famous person, who would you like to see in Marimekko?<\/em>
\nA.<\/strong> Hmm .. sure, I’d love to see some celebrities with our creations, but they are not who we hope to dress up. The other day walking around\u00a0Milan, I saw a lady beautifully dressed with one of our bags from the latest collection. It was a huge pleasure to see how she matched\u00a0it in her\u00a0daily life. Sometimes we discover\u00a0combinations so perfectly managed that we had not thought of! Everyone must create his\u00a0own style<\/strong>, we can just provide tools!<\/p>\n
