\nDurante l’ultimo Fuorisalone, a Ventura Lambrate<\/a>, ho conosciuto Ateliers Zelij<\/strong><\/a>, uno studio francese interamente dedicato alla realizzazione artigianale di piastrelle marocchine.<\/p>\n

Tiles and cement tiles<\/strong> are one of the biggest trend of the moment. They fit perfectly in every\u00a0style<\/strong>, from the Scandi-Minimal through the\u00a0Jungalow and Ethnic style. <\/em>
\nDuring the last Fuorisalone, in Ventura Lambrate<\/a>, I met Ateliers Zelij<\/strong><\/a>, a French studio\u00a0entirely dedicated to\u00a0the creation and the production of Moroccan cement tiles and zelliges.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ateliers Zelij nasce dall’incontro di due designer: Samir Mazer & Delphine Laporte. Samir ha origini marocchine e ha saputo traghettare dal Marocco alla Francia il saper fare artigianale nel design contemporaneo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ateliers Zelij, born from the meeting of the two designers Samir Mazer & Delphine Laporte. Samir has Moroccan origins, he combines traditional tiles techniques with contemporary design<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Zelij<\/em><\/strong> deriva\u00a0dall’arabo \ufeaf\ufedf\ufef4\ufe9e e significa\u00a0“piccola pietra levigata”<\/strong>. Lo zellige \u00e8 l’assemblaggio di piastrelle tagliate in terracotta\u00a0smaltata\u00a0che riproducono, come in un mosaico, un disegno geometrico. \u00c8 una tecnica caratteristica della zona del Maghreb<\/strong>, Nord Africa, fino dal X secolo e viene utilizzato principalmente come decorazione per pareti e pavimenti.<\/p>\n

La bellezza e creativit\u00e0 delle collezioni di Atelier Zelij \u00e8 la capacit\u00e0 di tradurre la tradizione nel design contemporaneo<\/strong>. Esistono anche delle collezioni “Sculptural” cio\u00e8 a rilievo, in 3D. Le possibilit\u00e0 di combinazione di questi meravigliosi “mosaici” sono infiniti, basta pensare che esistono pi\u00f9 di 250 pattern in 72 palette di colori!<\/p>\n

“Zelij” in Arabic\u00a0means tiles. The zellige\u00a0is terra cotta tilework covered with enamel in the form of chips set into plaster. This form of Islamic art<\/strong> is one of the main characteristics of Algerian and Moroccan architecture. It consists of geometrically patterned mosaics<\/strong>, usually used to ornament walls and floors.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ateliers Zelij has the\u00a0ability to translate the tradition in contemporary design <\/strong>with\u00a0“Sculptural”\u00a0collections in 3D too! There are more than 250 patterns in a wide palette of 72 colors: decoration\u00a0possibilities are unlimited!<\/em><\/p>\n
