One of the most awaited events of the 2018 Fuorisalone is certainly the mega exhibition dedicated to Nendo, a Japanese studio that embodies the genius of Oki Sato.

The exhibition Nendo: forms of movement will be opened at Superstudio (via Tortona 27).
Over 800 square meters in a mysterious labyrinth, 10 concepts based on the idea of movement, which arises from function, materials and production method.

There will be a display not only of final products but also models and sketches, the perfect way to discover the work and creative process of the most loved design studio in the world.

You know very well that Oki Sato is the superhero of design for me, the true Fuorisalone rock star. Last year people waited hours in line to see his magical installation in the Jil Sander showroom. Meet and interview him in the cloisters of San Simpliciano among his 50 Manga Chairs was one of the most incredible moments I could imagine …

Japanese design when it gets too minimal and too simple it gets cold sometimes. I want that my design be friendly. I want to create a link between the object and persons, sometimes a pinch of humour is like a spice on the food: it makes the taste better and create link between people. .

In addition to Nendo exhibition, at Superstudio this year there will be a focus on Japanese design: established companies, startups and design Made in Japan.
Kawai, in collaboration with the light artist Takahiro Matsuo, will stage the poetic installation Crystal Rain where a transparent grand piano, born to celebrate the company’s ninety years, will float on water, generating a cascade of light at every note… I can not wait to see it!

This year there will be an excellent reason to return to via Tortona!
