If you like the architecture of Oscar Niemeyer there are two places where you have to go: Segrate (Milan) and Brasilia!

In Segrate there is Palazzo Mondadori that I’m lucky enough to visit daily thanks to CasaFacile but … where did the idea come out for this wonderful building? Why did Giorgio Mondadori (son of Arnoldo) call the Brazilian architect?

In the mid-sixties, Mondadori publisher needed more space and Arnoldo Mondadori and his son Giorgio were looking for the perfect project. During a trip to South America Giorgio Mondadori was literally struck by the Itamaraty Palace, the headquarters of the Ministry of External Relations of Brazil. The Palace of the Arches, as the entire city, was designed by the architect Oscar Niemeyer. And they wanted him!
