Feel at home on the other side of the world is totally possible! For the third time in two years (yes I know, the second time was just for one day, that magical April, 1st that we lived twice!) we returned to Hawaii and for the second time on the island of Maui. This summer we made an unforgettable trip around the United States, between architecture, American history and nature, I will tell everything in the next posts.
We still had in the heart the emotion of our first time in Hawaii, and we went back again in the same bed&breakfast too, at our hawaiian friends Tamara and Bob.maui-hawaii-bedandbreakfast-23maui-hawaii-bedandbreakfast-42

Maui is probably the most tourist island of Hawaii (after Honolulu of course!) but, even here, there are unspoiled spots of paradise. One of these is for sure the Iao Valley, in the North of the island. An enchanted valley, state park, the place where King Kamehameha – the Hawaiian King of Kings – conquered Maui (and unified all the islands under his throne).

The Iao Valley Inn is a magical place! Tamara, Bob and Mango, the dog, hosted us in their wonderful home, welcoming us like old friends. Everything here is wonderful! The “backyard” is a real botanical garden with fruit trees and flowers that we can only dream of: plumeria, mangoes, avocados, papayas, orchids, monstera, coffee trees, banana trees, lilikoi (passion fruit), ginger… here I learnt from Tamara how to recognize the most exotic plants! For me, chronic curious and botanical enthusiastic, it was like a dream!

Would you like to know which is the real treasure here? In the garden there is a waterfall that forms a natural pool where you can swim! Really amazing, this is how I imagine the paradise!

Papaia!

If you ever will be in Maui (and I wish you with all my heart), visit Tamara and Bob at the Iao Valley Inn. When their sons left home, they converted their beautiful rooms (with independent access) in an amazing bed&breakfast, to share with tourists their beautiful island.

Here you can experience the true Hawaiian life, here you feel the true meaning of the Aloha, the welcome.
